No longer accepting applications Animal Profile: Bishop is a 2-year-old cropped and docked Blue Doberman. He’s been loved and cared for his whole life, but his family had a change in circumstances and were unable to care for him. Bishop is originally from Idaho, but is ready to find his forever home here in the PNW. Bishop has lived with other dogs and kids, and dog tested friendly with both small and large dogs. He is house and crate trained, walks well on leash, is not reactive, and (in typical Doberman fashion) likes to lean in for lovins’. Foster Update: Bishop is kind of a unicorn…he has been a rock star ever since his arrival in our home. We knew he lived with kids and other pets in his previous foster home, but always evaluate the dogs upon arrival. He passed his dog/cat/kid testing with flying colors! Bishop is house trained, but did attempt to mark once when he first got home. A firm ‘no’ and leash pop was all it took to correct him and he has not tried again. He’s potty trained, kennel trained (goes right in on ‘kennel up’ command) and walks well on a slip lead or martingale collar. He is non reactive to other dogs, and plays well with our male Doberman and 8lb chihuahua mix. He was interested but respectful of our cat, and curious about our chickens but easy to redirect. In typical Doberman fashion, he sometimes grumbles and back talks if you’re taking too long to get breakfast ready or if he thinks it’s time to go outside and play. He is not loud or vocal in the house though! We find this endearing, and he’s fast to do the dobie lean for butt scratches. Bishop will make a wonderful companion for one lucky family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration.
