Meet Lucky! This sweet low-rider pup is very fortunate to have safely made her way to rescue. She was seen running around the Rock Hill airport and almost got hit several times by passing cars. She was LUCKY to have survived out on her own and lucky to have a Good Samaritan step up to help her. She was also pregnant and gave birth to seven pups within days after being taken in to rescue..in the safety and security of a foster home. We are happy to report that Lucky was a sweet and loving mama to her babies, and all seven have found their forever homes. Now it’s Lucky’s turn. Lucky is currently being fostered in a home with three large dogs, a cat, three adults, and a sixteen-year-old. She’s potty trained, has wonderful house manners, and is excellent with kids and other animals. She’s become great friends with the family pit mix, Moo, but is really good with the whole pack and the kitty too. Lucky was treated for heartworm after she weaned her puppies and is now free and clear of activity restrictions. We see regular leash walks, more playtime, and fun park outings in her near future. Her new, wonderful life is about to begin! We checked in with her foster mom, Jenn, for an update: “Lucky is a loving and kind medium-energy dog. She immediately became attached to me and is my velcro dog following me everywhere. You can tell she is nervous about being abandoned because she wants you in her sight at all times. When you leave the house though she is great, no accidents and she just hangs until you get home. She loves to cuddle on the couch and at night. She takes turns cuddling between myself and my husband. If I am home, she will only go outside with myself or my son, but if I am not she will go out with anyone. She is fully housebroken and has never had an accident. We have not been crating her. On one occasion she liked my husband's leather coasters a little too much, but besides that she has been perfect when left alone. Before she got her heartworm treatment we could see more of her playful personality. She loves to lay in the sun, and play with her “baby” a pink plastic dog toy that she will throw up in the air and chase around the room. She will run back and forth with the dogs while playing ball and has had a couple mornings where she did some super funny zoomies around the living room. We have a large fenced yard, and Lucky has great recall when we call her to come in. Lucky has been good with everyone who comes to visit and our friends say she is the friendliest foster we have ever had. She comes alive around kids and absolutely loves them. She can be a little cautious around some men, but will warm up with time and consistent exposure.” We think a perfect home for Lucky would be one with children of any age. She will make an excellent family dog and be great wherever she goes. She is good with dogs and cats but would be fine as an only dog, too. She’s very much focused on her people and is such a lovable girl with a bright future. Apply today!
