Adopt Lucy Lou a Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - with White Labrador Retriever /

Location:
Denton, TX
Description:

This is Lucy Lou; a good ole American, Heinz 57 mutt. Her mom was a small pit, but dad had some lab and apparently some cow dog, hence those amazing ears! Lila was rescued with her sister (Lucy Lou) who is also available for adoption. The puppies were well cared for and well socialized with humans early on, but they were getting too big and energetic (as puppies do) for their previous owner (who is a sr. citizen) so they’re now in foster care. Lila is the bigger, more dominant, and independent of the two pups. She loves being in the back yard with her sister and my big dog. She's very smart and listens to commands. She takes correction well and seems to understand most of it easily. If she's confused by a correction, she will back away and sit down and watch until she understands what to do. She loves to unwind at night in the house with all the people and the dogs while she chews on a bone before bedtime. Right now she is being housetrained and crate trained and she's doing great with both!!She goes to bed (crate) around 10:30 – 11:00pm and sleeps through the night until 6:30 – 7:00am. Lila is very sweet, curious and has lots of good energy. I think she will make an excellent dog for most situations due to her sweet temperament and small-medium size. She takes just a minute to warm up to new people but then she's a lap dog with plenty of kisses to go around. She has also been socialized with a larger dog (50 lb. catahoula) and a smaller dog (14 lb. chihuahua) with no problems. The vet says she's about 4 months old, so she won't be too big. She weighs 12 lbs. now (Jul 6).If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.Lila is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.
