Description:

Oscar might be his name but being a grouch is never going to be part of his story. This Oscar is a handsome Labrador mix, estimated to be 1 year old, currently weighs 80lbs and if he isn’t full grown he is pretty close. With rescue, breed and age are a bit of a mystery so we cannot guarantee those details but we make educated observations of a dogs personality and physical features to guide the information provided. Take a look at him and see if you agree! When we first met Oscar he was a touch shy and unsure but it didn’t take long at all for him to realize we were all friends. He quickly turned on the charm and in no time flat he was soaking up the belly rubs and working for treats. He is definitely a lover, and wonderfully people focused. He has learned that people=belly rubs and those are his favorite! He will flop over on his back to invite you to rub his belly and he will stay like that for however long you let him. He is gentle with his love and affection and leans into you for all of the snuggles and hugs. Not only is he great with people, he is dog friendly and cat-tolerant as well! We introduced Oscar to dogs in a variety of sizes and different personalities and he was an easy companion with each new dog. We never saw him really let loose and play but we anticipate once he is home, knows he is there to stay and feeling loved, he will show his more playful side. We know its in there! Oscars ideal home includes a yard with room to run and exercise the last drops of puppy still lingering in there. Exploring the yard and finding a spot to lay in the sun will quickly become part of his daily routine. Other pets? Oscar will fit right in! When he met our house cat Tom, Oscar showed the perfect amount of curiosity and gave very respectful distance when he got a little kitty paw to the nose. This gentle boy is absolutely the type I could see sharing his bed with the family cat. Although we haven’t seen Oscar directly with kids, that will be happening soon, we are confident he will be great! He is calm, not jumpy or mouthy, very gentle taking treats and tolerant of all the touches. Oscar is still young and will need to work on basic commands and leash skills but these should come easy as he is smart and eager to please. I can see him strolling the neighborhood and hitting the trails with his new family. Always followed by his favorite post-adventure nap on the couch. From what we have seen of Oscar, he is crate trained and potty trained but may need a reminder about where the appropriate potty places are once he is home. We are willing to test Oscar for any situation or detail to give you the confidence he is the one for you. Be in touch and we can make almost anything happen.
