Coketa’s a 5yo 8lb Rat Terrier. She’s calm, patient small dog and older kid who give her space friendly. She’s house trained. She’d be good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks with work. She prefers people over other dogs. Once she warms up she’s very sweet and loving. She can be very nervous and scared until she gets used to her new environment and comfortable then can becomes sweet, loving and cuddly. Coketa MUST have a quiet home with little activity of people coming and going. She needs people with patience to let her slowly get used to her new home along with people who are on board to show leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Coketa’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently fostered in Hatboro, PA. Complete an Adoption ApplicationWe will have a brief conversation with you to find out about your daily schedule, determine your preferences and needs, and talk about your previous experience with pets.We will check two personal references who know how you are with animals.If applicable, we will call your veterinarian to ensure that previous pets have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and well cared for.For renters, we will check with your landlord to ensure that dogs are permitted.Lastly, we will do a home check. We will arrange a visit with the dog and your family including all animals in your home, typically at your home. This is a great opportunity for you to get valuable input on how to integrate your new pet into your home. If we agree it is a mutually good fit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee and take the new dog into your home.
