Introducing Dax: Your Adventure Buddy and Water Enthusiast! At 3 and a half years old, Dax is a pit mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life that's infectious. House-trained and crate-trained, Dax is a four-legged gentleman who knows his way around the home. He attended a two-week board and train around year one, so he knows his basic manners and does well with structure. With medium to high-level energy, he's always ready for an adventure, but he's also a pro at unwinding and chilling in his spot in the living room for hours. Just turn on the show Parks and Rec, and he'll feel right at home! Dax is an avid fan of walks and hikes on trails, especially on paths where he can take a refreshing dip in a stream along the way. He's a versatile playmate who loves engaging in tug of war, hide and seek with his toys, and, of course, his all-time favorite activity: playing in the water. Although he's yet to conquer the swimming pool where his feet can't touch the ground. He loves a nice dip and splash in his own little water trough. Pull out the water hose, and he's in heaven! He turns into a "hungry hungry hippo, as one of his favorite boarding professionals has named him. Dax's other favorite activity is being your outdoor grilling companion! Patiently he waits by your side as you grill, with the condition that you add one or two hotdogs (or pieces of bacon) on the grill for him too. In his cozy abode, Dax coexists harmoniously with three cats. Occasionally, his playfulness gets the better of him, and he may rush toward the largest feline in the household. Yet, he responds well to verbal correction or quickly learns his boundaries when met with a few gentle kitty taps. Dax is a fast learner and, for the most part, respects the cats' personal space, making him a fantastic companion for feline friends. If you're looking for a loyal friend who loves curling up by your feet in the evening, Dax could be the dog for you. With his affectionate nature and captivating personality, he's sure to become an inseparable part of your family. This handsome boy hasn't had the chance to meet many kids yet, as his current home is childless, but he's familiar with the word "gentle," and we've been working diligently to practice this concept. We have no doubt that with a patient and loving home, he'll shine as a fun and loyal companion. While Dax is currently the only dog in his home, he's open to the possibility of sharing his life with another perfect-fit companion. With proper introductions and patience, he can adapt and form beautiful friendships with smaller dogs. However, when it comes to larger dogs, his excitement sometimes gets the best of him, so supervision during playtime is key. We're confident that with time and proper guidance, he'll learn to play gently with his bigger buddies too. Dax's ideal home would be one that appreciates his enthusiasm for life and understands his strong will. Mostly, he just wants to be where you are. He'll thrive with humans who can provide him with mental stimulation, plenty of love, understanding, and patience. He can be a little stubborn at times- like protesting his bedtime. But one thing he can't say no to is a treat.
