Buster von Brussow is a very handsome, 4-year-old, long-haired German Shepherd. Sweet Buster is a gentle soul who is just trying to get through life with a minimum of drama. He can be a bit shy at first but, come armed with some yummy treats and he’s sweet as can be, asking for all kinds of pets and attention. Likely housebroken, he’s good on a leash, knows how to heel and listens to directions well. He does ok in the calm doggy playgroups at Westside but seems more into people than other dogs. He’s not a fan of cats. Buster should be at the top of the list for an owner who has been looking for a good-looking guy who is bound to be the talk of your neighbors! Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
