Hi! My name is Shannon and I am looking for a forever home. I was surrendered to a shelter by my previous owners and as an owner surrender, I was at the top of something bad called "the list". Fortunately, BCAA heard about me and said they would help me ... yeah! I am a typical, happy lab mix who is between 12-18mos old who just loves life. I'm a little over 50lbs and as an adult dog, shouldn't get any bigger. I love getting attention and when initially meeting new folks I am a little excited but I promise, I will settle down and enjoy getting lots of loving; however, because of my exuberance, I would probably do better with older kids as I might unintentionally knock over smaller ones. I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and haven't paid any attention to those things called cats. While I would much prefer to be out with you, I have done really well in my crate overnight without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding (I will let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you). I love going for walks and other than initially pulling when we first go out, I do pretty good on a leash. I love my food and treats which I take gently and will be great for any future training you might want to do together. PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. April 18, 2024, 10:33 amAdoption processOur adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.Shelter locationWe have weekly adoption events at PetsMart every Saturday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm at the Eastgate Square Shopping Center, Rt. 38, Moorestown, NJ and PetsMart, 62 Centerton Rd, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
