Looking for a sweet, cuddly medium sized dog with soulful eyes that loves people? Have we got the dog for you!Dixie was adopted as a 4 month old puppy, but returned several months later due to separation anxiety. We have worked with and conquered that problem, so Dixie is ready to find her forever home. At just a year old, Dixie has lots of energy, so would love an active home. She is also very happy to snuggle with you on the couch when you want to relax. She isn’t destructive, except for wanting to shred paper. Dixie becomes extremely stressed when crated, but is perfectly happy in a gated room.This girl loves all people, including children. We don’t know how she feels about cats, but she can be cat tested if needed. She is generally good with other dogs, but prefers slow introductions. Once she is comfortable with a dog she is meeting, they become besties. She enjoys toys, and is very food motivated, making continued training easy.She is a hound, so, typical of her breed, needs to be on a leash when not in a fenced area.
