I love toys, and I love to roll around with a toy mouse or chase a wand toy!I was found as a stray about a 6 weeks ago and I lived with my finder for a few weeks before coming to the shelter. We have no history for me except to know that I did not get along with the existing cat in my temporary home. I will need proper stimulation to be a happy roommate, i.e., appropriate playtime, enrichment such as puzzle toys, climbing areas, a very catified house! Jackson Galaxy is a good resource. I should also have an area to decompress. Staff will be glad to respond to questions regarding behavior. My ideal home will offer lots of space for me to explore: I am not a suitable guy for apartment-living where there isn`t space for separation when I get over-aroused.With my history as a stray, I may benefit from having a safe indoor/outdoor option in the event I need more enrichment than being an indoor-only cat could provide me behaviorally. My adoption should have that option just in case!A slow introduction to my new home and liter box is a must! It is anticipated that I might struggle with transition and may show this with avoidant or conflicted behavior (hissing, swatting, but choosing to stay close). My adopter should start me in one room and gradually give me more access only when I am confidently moving about my environment.I am conflicted with close handling and long stretches of petting. Despite my chirpy, solicitous behavior, I may be more of a `pet myself on you` kind of cat until I am comfortable in my surroundings and with my people. My adopter should be cat-savvy and be able to read my body language. They should not push interactions, and use consent tests. The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon - 3:00 pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats.Compatibility:Cats: No thanks!Dogs: No thanks!Kids: No thanks!
