Luigi is a growing German Shepherd mix puppy with a birthdate of January 28, 2022. Luigi might be a bit of an escape artist. He was found as a stray in August and returned to his owner, and then he was again found as a stray in October. Luigi does not appear to have been properly socialized. Lots of pet parents think that the term “puppy socialization” means introducing your puppy to other dogs. But there is a lot more to it than that. In fact, socialization is the process of introducing your puppy to the whole wide world, from different types of people to places and objects they’ve never seen before. Pet parents should aim to expose their puppy to as many different positive experiences as they can. Luigi knows to sit when asked, but he does not understand the leash. He loves to play, but if you move a certain way, he might crouch in fear or react with a sneer. Luigi is open to learning; he needs an owner with time and patience to show him what is expected of a Good Dog. Luigi aims to please and he really wants to play and have fun with new friends. The adoption fee is $225 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment.
