Location: west columbia, SCName: monkeyAge: 9 years - none of the vets he has seen thinks his age matches (they all think he acts and looks younger) but we know he is at least 9 with lots of life left to live. Breed: jack Russel mix - 18 lbs M/F: MSpayed/Neutered/Shots: UTD on rabies and DHPP, neuter scheduled (he doesn’t mark at all though - I’ve been surprised). Heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea prevention. Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with kids. Good with dogs but a bit more scared of the larger dogs. Has mood changes about cats - sometimes he doesn’t act like they’re there and sometimes he barks at them. He primarily lives in a room with cats at the moment though and hasn’t tried to hurt any of them. Aggression or medical issues?: no aggression - just a barker when he feels intimidated. For medical, he has a small mass in mouth and fatty tissue spots on belly that are getting removed when neutered. None are concerning to health at this point though. Reason for rehoming?: found stray - owners were determined but he could not be returned as they are incarceratedWould you like rescue help?: no - already with oneHouse/crate trained?: yes. Only been having to walk once in morning and evening and he has no accidents. Have to physically put him in the crate but he is fine once in. Additional info/story (personality):Monkey is 100% a companion dog. He wants to be in your lap at all times. He is fully a companion dog. He does not have any table manners unfortunately so I have to put him in his kennel or in a different room when I am eating. He does extremely well on a leash. His surgery is scheduled for the 12th and I would be happy to pay if you are local and would like to foster until that point. Since he is a jack Russel mix, he can be very talkative when he isn’t getting his way. It’s really not bad though as long as he gets to be your companion as that is genuinely all he wants. When you give back scritches his back legs start twitching like crazy and it is very cute. His only true toxic trait is he likes to chew tiny holes in blankets so I have a designated blanket for him to lay on. I’ve also learned that rope toys work for keeping him distracted from doing that as well. Message/comment if interested.
