Luke is a 6 month old Golden-Mix puppy that was surrendered to GRRAND by a breeder. He is currently in a foster home so we are still learning about him, but we do know he needs to go to a home with another dog that can help him build his confidence and show him the ropes. She also says "He seems to be settling in quick so I’m sure he’ll be easily adaptable to a new home. From the short time he’s been here he seems pretty house trained and crate trained (no accidents and goes in the kennel and settles without a fuss). Just a few things to note... I’d say he’s probably 35-40 lbs. He has most If not all of his big boy teeth already. Luke really enjoys playing fetch with a ball and he’ll bring it right back to you and either drop it or let you take it from his mouth. He is very laid back and calm but has bouts of puppy energy. He walks relatively easy on a leash with a martingale collar especially considering he never was really leash trained and doesn’t pull at all. He loves attention and pets. Training wise he is mastering in only 1 day, sitting for treats and will work on that every day going forward, and he does understand what no means, if he does something he’s not supposed to and he’s told no, he stops, like picking up a shoe or digging at the rug. He’s super happy and laid back and would make a great addition to any family"! GRRAND policies stipulate a few important things that may stop you from applying, and here are 2 big ones- A: GRRAND will NOT place a puppy under the age of 6 months with families with children under 6 yrs old B: Any applicant with children under the age of 16, will require a home with direct access to a securely fenced yard... meaning direct access to the yard from the home… so this means no apartments or condos. As with all puppies, they will need a home where someone is home most of the time as they need to be fed regularly, and let to go outside consistently and constantly ALL DAY LONG so potty training can be a breeze. They will be looking for a family with LOTS of time and patience to socialize and work with a puppy so they can grow up to be good pups! ***Exercise and direction are a must as a tired puppy is a good puppy!! It is a lot of fun, but it is a lot of work, and if you don't have the time, an active and non-stop playful puppy may not be for you! Families must understand there needs to be constant supervision as children of all ages need to learn to respect an animal and puppies, and need to be taught boundaries. We are excited these pups will get to know what a nice soft bed, in a warm and cozy home with a loving family is all about!
