Isla is a beautiful Schnauzer / Poodle (maybe?) mix who is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 18 pounds. We rescued Isla (and her friend Shirley) from the Weslaco shelter in south Texas near the border of Mexico. These two little girls arrived to the shelter in terrible shape and we suspect that they were used as breeding dogs. All of that is behind her now, she is now spayed and is doing very well healing with us. Despite her rough start, Shirley is a very sweet dog with a wonderful disposition. She loves to play and explore and enjoys everyone she meets. She gets along well with the other dogs in her group here (although her buddy Shirley can boss her around a bit). We believe she would do well. with another dog that matches her energy and is not too bossy. We can see her doing well in just about any family environment. We just love this little lady and can’t wait for her to find her loving forever home! Isla is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet will be arranged with an approved application.
