They are smart, inquisitive, and loving animals that are entertaining and vocal. They love to run, jump, and play, and are most active in the evenings. Owning a chinchilla is a long-term investment as they can live up to 10 years. They are not recommended for young children because they are fragile and can be easily injured or frightened. Chinchillas require gentle and careful handling! These adorable creatures are social animals and need lots of interaction and attention. They become very attached to their owner. If you are unable to devote enough time to your chinchilla, we recommend getting a second chinchilla to give the first companionship. Chinchillas need a large cage with hide areas and tunnels, a big exercise wheel, chew toys, hay in a hay rack, pelleted or shredded bedding, and a food bowl and water bottle. They need a high fiber diet of hay and pelleted food formilated for Chinchillas. They are very clean little animals and have almost no body odor. They must have a dust bath in proper dusting powder at least twice a week, which is very hilarious to watch!Our Chinchillas are not spayed or neutered. We highly recommend contacting an veterinary practice that handles surgery on exotic species.Adoption Fee: $50.00
