Cockatiels are the smallest members of the cockatoo family, and Jagger has a giant personality tucked into his tiny self. Cockatiels thrive on attention, so an adopter should have a lifestyle that accommodates interaction. Jagger is still a fairly young bird of about two years, cockatiels may live 15 to 20 years with proper care. Gentle and affectionate, Jagger loves attention. While he doesn't care to sit on your finger, he loves to be nearby either on the back of your chair or your shoulder. He has a repertoire of chirps and whistles and sounds though he is not as loud as other parrots. Birds are naturally messy so bathing or a mist shower as well as regular cage cleaning is a must for their health. Potential adopters should be aware of the hazards presented by household items including (& not limited to) cookware coatings, scents (candles, perfumes, etc.) cleaning products, insecticides and/or pesticides as well as some houseplants and food items that may be toxic to birds.At the time you are seeing this post, Jagger is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time.
