MEET JOEY!! These handsome, very social boys are a SPECIAL NEEDS pair. JOEY was pulled from a local animal shelter and RIGGS came from a large intake. As you can see, JOEY is quite shiny and glistens in the light. Unfortunately, he is a Satin piggy and although he is currently not showing any signs or symptoms, there is a high chance he may develop SATIN SYNDROME in the next year or so. The satin gene can cause SATIN SYNDROME; a debilitating metabolic bone disease called osteodystrophy. Their FURever family will need to do research and become familiar with the health difficulties and treatment options for this terrible disease. It does not affect all Satin piggies; however, it is best to be prepared in case he does develop symptoms in the future. This duo is very social, and they enjoy being hand fed snacks and treats. You can usually find them relaxing under their UVB light or popcorning throughout their cage!
