Elsa is a beautiful 1-1/2 year old female Shepherd mix who came to the HSOV on April 15, 2023 because her owner had been hospitalized and was unable to care for Elsa. We hoped that Elsa would eventually be able to return home, but on June 15th it was decided that Elsa could be placed for adoption and find another loving home. This sweet girl has a brown-and-black short smooth coat with a patch of white on her chest, a long curled tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a tan mask, a black button nose, a dusting of white on her slender muzzle, and large floppy ears. Elsa has a happy, outgoing personality and loves to take walks with our kennel techs and volunteers. Elsa weighed 37.4 lbs when she entered our shelter on April 15th and had a rather slim physique. It appeared that she had gained a few pounds when HSOV Kennel Tech Katherine helped Elsa with updated photos on June 23, 2023. Elsa loved being outdoors with Katherine that afternoon and enjoyed some out-of-kennel time being showered with extra attention and leisurely meandering in the green grass and shade. Elsa was spayed on June 21, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine. UPDATE: Elsa was adopted on July 26, 2023 and enjoyed a brief home with her new family. Her adopter was very sad when Elsa was returned on August 21, 2023 through no fault of her own. It turned out that Elsa was a little too strong for her to handle and she tended to pull on a leash (especially when she would try to visit a neighbor's dog in order to play). Her adopter stated that Elsa is housetrained and good with other dogs. "Elsa is a real sweetheart ... please find her a good home soon." Elsa was in an adoptive home for a few weeks in October 2023 but was returned when she was overly protective of her new mistress.If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elsa (Spayed), please reach out to the adoption group directly.
