It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. BAHS waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides some support post-adoption. The kitten can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.Her soft purrs and loving gazes will make you feel like the most special person in the world.All cats adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society are spayed or neutered. They are dewormed, receive vaccines and are microchipped. The adoption process is by appointment, allowing the shelter to provide individualized attention to potential adopters and ensure a smooth experience for you and the cat.Adoptions at BAHS are by appointment only. To initiate the process, you'll need to fill out an online application, and someone from BAHS will get in touch with you. This appointment-based system helps ensure a smooth and personalized adoption process.All cats/kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be indoor-only animals.
