Location:

Description:

I am MacDuff and MacBeth is my brother from another mother. We love to groom each other, sleep together and eat together. We’ve even been known to escape together when we’re on the hunt for some yummy food. Luckily, Friends for Life understands our love and is going to make sure we get to stay together forever. Once we get to know and trust you, our personalities will blossom and you will see what truly amazing bunnies we are! While I'm on the topic of rabbits, I'd like to mention our bodies are more fragile than that of dog and cats, so we would be best suited for a home with adults. Teens are ok too, as long as they understand how to handle us safely. (If you've never held a bunny before, that's ok! Our boss can talk you through it!) While I'm laying out our preferences, we don't really fancy being held since we are prey animals -- but we enjoy it tremendously when humans join us on the floor to play with us and pet us. So much, you might even see us do zoomies and binkies when our hearts fill with joy! Our love can easily be earned with bites of blueberries and bananas as we are highly food motivated. We are also smart enough to get our blueberries out of a foraging toy; that makes us think too. Of course, we cannot have all the fruit we want because that might cause us to develop health issues. Don’t be stingy with the Timothy hay and fresh greens; we love that too. And of course, we always need fresh water. And, not to brag, but we’re pretty neat. Seriously. we are trained to use a litter box. We might leave a coco puff here or there accidentally, but those are easy to clean. We’re neutered. And get this – we are also self-cleaning. That means you don't -- actually SHOULD NOT -- bathe us. But you can watch as we lick our paws and groom our faces and ears. It's pretty adorable. Our health is important to us. In addition to a healthy diet, it's important we see the vet, just like other companion animals. If you're considering adopting us, we need to go to a specially trained exotics vet. We would love to get settled in a forever home sooner than later. If you are interested in adopting us, please go to this link and fill out the online application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFL/Rabbit And last, but not least, there is only one adoption fee for both of us, $75.Adoption processWe have a $95 adoption fee for cats and dogs that covers shots, testing, health checks and age-appropriate spay or neuter. All cats and dogs are micro chipped; dogs are on heartworm preventative. Our adopters must be 21, have ID and must undergo an interview, fill out an application and sign contracts related to commitments for the care of the animals. We will check veterinary references and landlord information. No animals may be adopted as gifts and and all members of the caretaking family must be in agreement about the adoption. Should an adoption not work out we require the animal to be returned to Friends For Life. Our dog adoption application may be filled out online at: http://nokill1.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs. Our cat adoption application may be filled out online at: http://nokill1.org/adopt/adoptable-cats.Shelter locationFRIENDS FOR LIFE The Don Sanders Adoption Center107 E. 22nd StreetHouston, TX 77008713-863-XXXX HOURS:11-4PM Wednesday - MondayClosed Tuesday We are currently located in the Historic Heights.
