Mariposa is a brown, gray and black tabby female about 1 1/2 years of age. She has beautiful eyes and lots of long white whiskers on her pretty face. Her soft, longer coat will need regular brushing to remain tangle free. Mariposa is Spanish for “butterfly” and this brown classic tabby has a big butterfly on her back and shoulders. She is a survivor of the Borger fires. A family fleeing the fires made several attempts to rescue her and finally caught the shy, pregnant stray. She was brought to Amarillo and turned over to a fosterer where she delivered 5 kittens March 11. She was a great mom and is now ready for a forever home of her own. Mariposa eats wet and dry cat food but doesn’t like turkey or beef flavors. She will leave her food for a lap and cuddles and can be vocal when not getting enough loving. Mariposa is finally learning to play with things. She prefers a lap and petting or interactive play with ribbon and wand toys. She will sometimes chase a soft toy or small ball.
