Pumpkin is FIV+ which means her immune system is a little weaker than the average cat's, making her more susceptible to diseases. With proper care such as regular visits to the vet, FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. They should also be indoor only cats not only for their own safety but to also prevent the spread of FIV to other cats.FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) is spread to other cats through either deep bites or mating. FIV+ cats can live harmoniously with cats that are not FIV+ when introductions are done properly and both animals are fixed. FIV cannot be spread through sharing bowls, toys, or litter boxes.
