My name is Shay, and I am a 4-yr old Shepherd mix, and the absolute sweetest, goofiest girl! I've had an extremely hard young life, getting hit by a car in Mexico as a stray, shot with a bee bee, had a tumor removed and possibly even had puppies, and yet through it all I am so trusting and just the happiest little girl you've ever met :) I am good with dogs, and love wrestling with my foster brother, but am a little wary of dogs from a distance so I have to be introduced right (which I feel like is totally understandable with my background!). I have a limp from my car accident, but I still absolutely love going on walks and will do everything I can to keep up with you. I love just hanging out and sleeping on the couch in the sun, and I've never had any problems being left home alone, but I'm also perfectly happy in my crate. I'm a big eater and will vocally tell you this as you make my food (although I'm still not sure how I feel about bananas and apples.....). I haven't been introduced to any kids in my current home, but I've never had any problem with barking or lunging at people big or small, so my dad thinks the odds are good I would be totally fine! I'm not sure about cats, but I have such an easy going personality, that I have no doubt I could figure out how to co-exist! I'm still working on not jumping on people, but I promise I'm trying really hard and getting better every day! I manage the stairs with my limp, and would for sure love a house with a big yard to hang around in and sleep in the sun. My dad cannot put into words how sweet and silly and happy this little girl is, despite the insanely tough life I have had, and I am going to be so excited to find my forever family and give them all my love :) Feel free to come say hi and meet this amazing girl!If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shay, please reach out to the adoption group directly.
