Tommy has stolen the hearts of staff members here at BARCS and given the chance to cuddle with you, he will certainly steal your heart too. His fans describe him as an incredibly cute, loving, attached at the hip, super awkward but amazing dog. A few things about Tommy: He is two years old, and came to the shelter under-socialized and unsure about some people, but even in the stressful environment of the shelter, he has made such progress! For now, he still needs to be the baby of the house though, so we think he would do best in a home of adults only and as the only dog. Although he might not seem it from looking at him in his kennel sometimes, Tommy is actually fairly low energy, but has some puppy-like behavior and spurts of energy. He enjoys just sitting outside, getting scritches or snuggling up to you, but also enjoys walks. Tommy is looking not only for a snuggling partner, but also someone who is patient and willing to continue working with him on socialization. BARCS offers free training to help Tommy become more mature and sure of himself. If his new family chooses not to take up the offer for free training, hopefully they will at least send updates because his BARCS fans just know he is going to do great!
